U.S. Republic of When?

Last night I sat with my boyfriend and discussed what the next year of U.S. Governing may look like. It is time here soon to look at each possible candidate and try to decide who we want in that big round room. There is a lot of pressure in it. But I am starting to think maybe too much pressure. I mean do we really have that much weight in our one vote? What do you think? I think it is important for the people of the US to have something to come together on and to disagree on. I like to think my opinion is that valuable.
This drove us to a discussion of what are we looking for from our government? At first I was thinking of those hot topics that drive each candidate, where are they with health care? where are they with national debt.. blah blah blah blah blah. I think this year or this next election will be Health Care And Now!.. but its just not enough.
I don't blame the system! I don't blame the people behind those presidential seals on their letter headers. I think too much weight is put on our government. This "structure" of government need revision.
Why is it that we put our faith.. for lack of better term.. into one man. I know it is not one man that makes the decisions, that makes the changes. But we like to think that WE picked that person to "govern" to our wishes as a nation. We like to think that if our party is elected, then at least one or two of our decisions will be voiced. But when we have no trouble at all blaming the president if the 4 years doesn't go as WE hoped.
Well No Shit!
No one gets everything they want. No two people fully agree! So why blame the government?
It is the peoples last escape goat.
No one stands up and thinks some new ideas up they just keep banging their heads on the same damn wall. but because they stepped back for ten seconds and made sure it was the same wall, they justify banging their brains out.
We are our nations downfall! FACT! I'm sorry but it is true. What are we each ... as each individual person.. doing to help this nation grow?
I work, I go to college, I follow the laws and rules of social and judicial society. I am "a good citizen."
But it is not enough. We are still facing the same issues everyday!! We have hatred in our hearts, because we "have the right." SO here is what I think:
Keep our Government.
But change everything else!

OPWDD is The Office of People With Developmental Disabilities!
I work everyday as a faithful employee of an agency that focuses one peoples needs from a one-on-one perspective. I Love My Job. I love what it stands for. And no it is not perfect. But it could be. I know the intentions of OPWDD are for the good of the individuals we serve. Now why do they have to be labeled to receive aid? Governmental funding I guess wouldn't be able to stretch too far if there wasn't a requirement to meet.
Why can't this kind of help be offered to everyone?
Why does our government only get involved, TRULY involved, when we screw up or it breaks a law. People need help long before that.
If we had Individualized Plans of Service for people without requiring a label to qualify, we could grow as an individual, healthy, strong, secure and safe.
My idea is:
Let our government offer... not through one of its current branches... this will be too big for that. It needs its own new, independent, branch, that balances with all others, and focuses on the people, for the people.
Take.. 75 volunteers who don't fall under and label or did not require punishment by law... and make IPOP and ISPs for these people. If you don't know what those are, they are what OPWDD used to assist and serve individuals based off of their personal needs, personality, history, health, and desires. Help 75 people to identify their personal goals, through assistance with daily living skills, job coaching, providing assistance with overcoming personal psychological battles. We know how! We have agencies for this. We have community centers that try to do as much as they can on a very limited budget.
Once 75 people feel that someone, something is in place to be the "bumpers" on their individualized path in life, they can be the "good citizens" our government is looking for to basically re-build our economy, our national goals. Remember that saying "help me, help you" that is what we lack in the US. If done right that idea of individualizing each person so that their needs are met could change more than electing one man and expecting our voices to be heard.
From 75 people maybe it would grow, now these 75 people are out there in our communities giving back to what aided them. How about the next set of 75 or make it 100 .. whatever.. start these plans at 6th grade and have them revised every year or 6 months to meet each persons ever changing life. Do it selflessly!!!! Keep going until its the way life is... and who will run this... for ego purposes, for public understanding, and to get the ball rolling, have the government start it. From there it would be important to build its own branch as not to get tied into politics or loose that one-on-one selfless service it could provide. And ...
Take it one step more..
Our government... or well... lets say... "cell phone companies" keep tabs on every electronic move we make. Where we "liked" Toms status on facebook,  where we "checked in" on our school trip, who we "tagged" in our party pictures from saturday night. Why do they do it? "to trouble shoot issues we may face in the event of a glitch" in our electronic system. F that! As US citizens we have rights but rights to privacy are not one of them. And why should that be? So you can sleep better at night because big brother isn't watching you change into your PJ's? No big brother has seen anything you have to show time and time again, and really big brother just wants to make sure your not plotting anything in those PJ's. Is that so bad? Maybe but maybe not. They already know from facebook, cell phone txt, email, blog.. etc.. just what you are about, and just what kind of behavior you demonstrate.
Lets use that "private" knowledge to help each person specifically. And how about this, rather than people rioting in the streets over gay marriage why cant that choice be put in the IPOP as individually specific. And hey.. what about jurisdiction??? if you brake a law in Texas are you breaking a law in California?? Look at the IPOP, punish accordingly.
I don't know maybe I taking it too far. But I think we could accomplish a lot more as a whole in this nation, by treating people not as a whole. Everyones equal, but everyone is unique. Everyone has to take responsibly for themselves. Stop Blaming the government because you are a product of your environment. Sign yourself up for individualized aid, if you don't like it, just like OPWDD sign yourself out.
Ok I'm done ranting about this. But it would be nice to see this system used for everyone, no labels needed.
